The idea of leaving a legacy is the need or the desire to be remembered for what you have contributed to the world. In some cases, that contribution can be so special that the universe is changed.
In 2017, Peninsula Agency on Aging unveiled the Dr. Martha S. Tennille Donor Recognition Tree and began to invite our donors to make an investment in our future, a permanent symbol, an unwavering reminder of how they've helped shape the life of older adults in the community. This tree honors our dedicated community supporters, which help us to enhance our ability to deliver nutritious meals, provide transportation and provide in-home personal care. The invitation extended is to commit to a personalized leaf, "in memory of" dove or foundation stone. Each leaf, dove or stone recognizing their contribution will be permanently and prominently displayed on our Donor Tree at the entrance to our Newport News office.
The Legacy Tree is named in honor of Dr. Martha S. Tennille as she has continued to be our most generous supporter both in resources and service. Dr. Tennille's legacy of commitment will continue to carry forth for many years and for that, we are truly grateful.
